SolarPower Europe signs cooperation agreement with National Solar Energy Federation of India

Brussels, 7 March 2019 – SolarPower Europe and the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and explore new business opportunities for solar companies in the European and Indian solar market. “India is one of the world’s fastest growing markets, expected to surpass 25 gigawatts of cumulative capacity in 2018. Many SolarPower Europe members are already active or highly interested in entering the Indian market, thus, it is the perfect moment to launch a close cooperation with NSEFI. We look forward to exchanging knowledge and best practices to benefit both the European and Indian solar industry,” said Walburga Hemetsberger, CEO of SolarPower Europe. SolarPower Europe and NSEFI have identified Operation & Maintenance (O&M), installation quality, digitalisation and storage as key areas of cooperation. Pranav Mehta, Chairman of NSEFI added: “We are delighted to sign this MOU and agreement of cooperation with one of the world’s leading solar organization, SolarPower Europe – with the legacy of late Dr.Hermann Sheer especially in the areas of Technology transfer, ensuring quality of the products, O&M best practices, capacity building and thus strengthening the cooperation to explore new business opportunities for our respective members, in the backdrop of the large Indian market with the national target of achieving 100 GW solar capacity.
