Sep 24, 2026

On 23–24 September, NSEFI DG Shri Deepak Gupta IAS (Retd) and Mohit Kumar along with the TRI team, visited community-managed solar lift irrigation sites in Kondagaon and Kanker, Chhattisgarh. They interacted with farmers and examined a model where solar energy, community institutions and irrigation are working together. Water User Groups formed through SHGs under NRLM manage the irrigation systems, drawing water from perennial sources such as the Indravati River and check dams and are collectively using it for agriculture.
