Shri PC Garg, Principal Advisor, NSEFI - National Solar Energy Federation of India, was a panellist at the Indian Utility Week Energy CEO Forum – Powering India’s Growth: CEO Insights on Generation Strategy, Risk & Regulation. In his remarks, Shri Garg highlighted that India’s peak demand typically occurs in the evening, making it imperative to deploy solutions such as storage, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), pumped storage, and ensuring ISTS connectivity during the night to meet demand effectively. He further underlined that supply chain disruptions, trade wars, and the availability of critical minerals remain significant challenges for the sector, requiring coordinated policy support and industry preparedness.
