Communications and Public Relations

The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) is India’s leading solar energy advocacy group, representing diverse stakeholders across the solar energy ecosystem, including developers, manufacturers, EPC contractors, and other allied sectors. NSEFI works to accelerate solar energy adoption in India through policy advocacy, capacity building, and stakeholder collaboration, driving the country toward its renewable energy goals.

Position: Intern – Communications and Public Relations
Location: New Delhi, India
Duration: 3-6 months (with potential for extension based on performance)
Stipend: Competitive and commensurate with skills and experience


Role Overview

NSEFI is looking for a dynamic and creative Intern – Communications and Public Relations to support its communications strategy and outreach initiatives. The intern will play a critical role in enhancing NSEFI’s visibility and engagement with stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, media, and the public. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to India’s renewable energy transition while building expertise in communications and public relations.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Content Development and Management:

    • Assist in creating and curating content for NSEFI’s website, blog, newsletters, press releases, and social media platforms.
    • Draft compelling articles, opinion pieces, and case studies showcasing NSEFI’s work and industry developments.
    • Ensure that all communications are accurate, consistent, and aligned with NSEFI’s brand voice.
  2. Social Media Strategy and Execution:

    • Develop and execute social media campaigns to promote NSEFI’s initiatives, events, and publications.
    • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics and suggest improvements.
    • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to enhance NSEFI’s digital presence.
  3. Media Relations:

    • Support outreach to journalists, media houses, and influencers to promote NSEFI’s activities and achievements.
    • Help organize press conferences, media briefings, and interviews with NSEFI leadership.
    • Maintain a database of media contacts and track coverage of renewable energy in India.
  4. Event Coordination:

    • Assist in planning and promoting webinars, workshops, and events organized by NSEFI.
    • Support the creation of promotional materials such as brochures, posters, and event invites.
    • Document event proceedings and prepare post-event reports for dissemination.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with team members to develop communications that resonate with policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders.
    • Help maintain relationships with key partners and support stakeholder communication efforts.
  6. Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Track renewable energy-related developments in the media and compile daily/weekly media briefs for internal circulation.
    • Monitor communication efforts and generate reports on campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) and using tools like Canva, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability, with a desire to contribute to India’s clean energy mission.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience or internship in communications, public relations, or digital marketing.
  • Basic knowledge of India’s renewable energy sector and ongoing solar energy initiatives.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing software is a plus.
