NSEFI and International Solar Alliance in alliance with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH conducted an Agrivoltaics Workshop on Current Policy and Regulations Framework as part of the Indo-German platform for collaboration on Renewable Energy under the umbrella of RE-Invest. The workshop focused on three sub-themes: Land use regulations and zoning for agrivoltaics, Grid integration challenges and solutions, and Agricultural subsidies and their impact on agrivoltaics adoption - International best practices in agrivoltaics policy.
The event was graced by Mr. Uwe Gehlen, Minister & Head of Economic Cooperation & Development, Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany India (German Embassy New Delhi). He spoke about India and Germany's extensive partnership in the renewable energy sector and the need to derive solutions helpful in achieving the country's ambitious targets through innovative solar practices such as agrivoltaics.
The workshop was conducted interactively with two different subgroups discussing various themes. Stakeholders ranging from developers, research institutions, and financial institutions highlighted the policy and regulatory frameworks for agrivoltaics and the underlying challenges and opportunities in the ecosystem.
