At the Third Edition of the India Heat Summit 2026, organised by Climate Trends and supported by NSEFI - National Solar Energy Federation of India, Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO, NSEFI highlighted how solar energy has not only contributed to decarbonising India’s power sector, but has also effectively absorbed the country’s growing power demand. He emphasised that the key challenge now lies in efficiently integrating and utilising the vast distributed solar capacity within existing infrastructure frameworks. Stressing the importance of grid resilience and energy reliability, he noted that energy storage remains the most prudent and critical solution for transforming Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) into Stable Renewable Energy (SRE), thereby maximising the value and impact of solar assets. The discussions reinforced the urgent need for integrated clean energy solutions that combine renewable generation, storage, and resilient infrastructure to power India’s sustainable future.
