City Accelerator Programme: Guwahati
The Solar Surya Rath under the City Accelerator Program (CAP) was flagged off in Guwahati, Assam by Shri Mrigen Sarania, Hon'ble Mayor, Guwahati Municipal Corporation, marking another significant milestone in advancing clean energy awareness and citizen participation under the PM - Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Alongside the flag-off, an on-the-spot registration and query resolution booth was set up to assist citizens with scheme-related information, application support, and registration under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The booth serves as a single-point facilitation centre, enabling households to understand the benefits of rooftop solar and complete their registrations easily. The initiative is being implemented by the NSEFI - National Solar Energy Federation of India in collaboration with International Forum for Environment, Sustainability & Technology (iFOREST), with the support of Energiva Ventures and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, to accelerate the adoption of residential rooftop solar through grassroots awareness and citizen engagement.
